”if we let fuckers run the world”

Welcome to the very first edition of The Weekly Fucker.
The Weekly Fucker for our inaugural week goes to none other than our very own Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak.
Great work Rishi – you’re meant to be SOLVING problems in our economy, not creating them.
It might have escaped your notice, but as tax payers, WE are paying your wages. Musicians and struggling creatives should “retrain” and look for other jobs you say?
Thank You.
Great idea – let’s take all the years of study and at times soul destroying hard graft, not to mention coming through arguably the biggest technological changes of the 20th Century.

Learning how to make a living from multiple, mostly minuscule, income streams, where we have to fight to earn every penny.

Then, hang on, yep, let’s flush all that down the shitter, and retrain for a new career.
Most musicians don’t have the luxury of being able to fall back on a multi million pound fortune, unlike yourself.
In 2018, the music business contributed 5.2B to the UK economy.

That would appear to amount to quite a chunk of tax revenue.
Although, as we all know, regrettably, that’s not what you use our tax payments for, you use it to service the interest on our ever increasing national debt…. created by

the Conservative Party in the first place!
Being a member of the House of Commons is an honour and should be considered the ultimate privilege.
There is no higher vocation than a life of service. Politicians have a chance to really change the world and make a difference to people. Passing on a condescending message recommending that people give up their own vocation is NOT OKAY.
You my friend, are our very first “weekly fucker”, awarded for your unbelievable services to the creative industries.
Your certificate is in the post
